What is Botox?
Neuromodulators are a category of injectable treatments designed to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause expression lines like squinting, frowning, or raising your brows. By calming these muscles, they help smooth existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming.
At Facet Dermatology, we offer a portfolio of trusted neuromodulators including Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®. All three are FDA- and Health Canada-approved.
How Neuromodulators Work
When injected into precise facial muscles, these treatments block nerve signals that trigger movement. Over time, repeated expressions can cause lines to settle into the skin — but neuromodulators help break that cycle. Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® target these dynamic wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles. This not only softens visible lines but helps prevent them from becoming static wrinkles that stick around, even when your face is at rest.
What can Botox Treat?
There are many ways treatments with neuromodulators can help enhance your appearance or improve certain concerns. We recommend asking Dr. Geeta Yadav about all your treatment options during your initial consultation, but some of the most popular uses of this minimally-invasive procedure include:
- Frown lines (glabellar lines)
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s feet
- Bunny lines (nose wrinkles)
- Lip lines and smoker’s lines
- Downturned mouth corners
- Neck bands
- Chin dimpling
- Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
